Press Release - 300 children reached!

The Caring Center has adopted “The Raising a Reader” Program; a nationally recognized early literacy initiative.  

• The Caring Center is the only Early Childhood Facility in Philadelphia that holds the Affiliate License.
• The affiliate license was awarded to the Caring Center in 2008 by the national affiliate after the successful implementation as a United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania Early to Learn program participant.
• More than 100 children enjoy Raising a Reader each week.
• Raising a Reader supports healthy brain development and critical skills needed for school success. 
• This program fosters parent – child bonding and engages them in a routine of daily “book cuddling” with their children from birth to age 5. 
• Teachers support parents through developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
• The Caring Center has received funding for this program from:
