The Caring Center welcomes your child to the wonderful world of learning.
The Caring Center is an exemplary early childhood education setting for children 6 weeks to 8 years old where your child’s cognitive, language/literacy, social/emotional, and physical development are intentionally nurtured so he/she is ready for school.
The Caring Center is easily accessible to the Schuylkill River (I-76), 30th Street Station and public transportation. With over 20 years of existence, The Caring Center is nationally accredited through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is a Keystone STAR 4 facility. With our better than state regulated ratios, the children enjoy activities that foster exploration through their senses and create opportunities for them to learn like scientists. Our outdoor play area allows the children to engage in active play at least two times daily (weather permitting). Included in the weekly tuition is our food program where the children enjoy two healthy snacks and a nutritious fresh cooked lunch. Our food choices contribute to building a healthy lifestyle and support brain development.
The Caring Center continues to be recognized in the community as a high quality child care and early learning center.
The Caring Center is an Equal Opportunity Childcare Provider.
Now that we are settled into our new home, we wanted to say THANK YOU to you and all the staff and teachers at The Caring Center. Gabriel’s year there was characterized by positive experiences. From the moment we went to the Wednesday Morning tour, you welcomed us and facilitated Gabriel’s entry into the school. In his time in both the Toddler room and TPK, it was always clear to us that he was nurtured and respected and that both his emotional and intellectual growth was fostered. We appreciated the effort of all of his teachers. Gabriel’s experiences at The Caring Center contributed to his love and enthusiasm for school.

During the four years Lucas spent at The Caring Center, we were most appreciative of the wonderful care and attention he received. This was consistent from his first day as a toddler to his last day in Pre-K. We are so thankful we found The Caring Center, because you truly partnered with us in the development of Lucas during these critical early years.
The Caring Center develops and executes age appropriate hands-on activities for children ranging in ages six weeks to ten years old. We serve a culturally, ethnically, and socioeconomically diverse population. Additionally, included in our tuition, The Caring Center provides a morning snack, nutritious lunch, and an afternoon snack prepared in our on-site commercial kitchen. The Caring Center is easily accessible to public transportation, Center City, Fairmount Area, West Philadelphia and suburban locations. For additional information on why we stand out, click here
The Caring Center Food Service Department provides a nutritious, well balanced menu for breakfast (early care only), lunch, morning and afternoon snack. A variety of healthy choices are prepared fresh each day. Although not all children like all foods, children are generally more willing to taste and eat new foods when surrounded by peers. The goal of the Food Service Department is to provide food that meets the children’s nutritional requirements and expands their selection and acceptance of healthy foods. Our afternoon snack is intentionally designed to be more substantial than the morning snack; this helps keep the children from getting hungry before dinner. We do not serve pork or beef products; we have removed juice from the menu. Our Food Service Department makes every effort to accommodate allergies and special diets. At The Caring Center, we promote healthy eating. Water is available throughout the day.
The Kindergarten Transition classroom is designed for children who will be moving on to Kindergarten in September and are ready for an experience that will scaffold them to the next level of development. Our experienced classroom teachers present a modified version of the curriculum they have created and delivered to kindergarten students over the past years. The fee for the Kindergarten Transition class is the same as the regular Preschool Program. For best results from the Program, it is highly recommended that your child attend the center five days per week. Classroom instruction occurs through an active learning approach where teachers use differentiated learning strategies and focus on learning centers and play as key elements of the daily schedule. Objectives: • Children will demonstrate proficiency in both academics and their approach to the learning environment • Through creative expression, children will demonstrate an appreciation and respect for differences in culture and viewpoints, and grow as competent problem solvers • Through manipulative mathematical, scientific, and social studies activities, children will better understand the world around them and begin to use math, science, and social study concepts to communicate their own thoughts and ideas which means they are beginning to think and reason • Children will participate in a variety of activities that will enhance word recognition skills leading them to independent reading
